Art for Peace
YVO has implemented many events for art and peace. In this event, YVO explores how visual art can teach conflict resolution and violence prevention to young adolescents. It focuses on developmental factors in early adolescence (8–14-year-olds) and the ways art can help young teens develop skills for peaceful problem-solving.
Young teens create art in any size and form, expressing their own visions of peace in written formats.
During and after this activity, participants and community members were encouraged to discuss the need for peace. This activity can build awareness of peace and conflict issues, strengthen the unity of communities, and encourage community members to take some peaceful actions by themselves.
