From Earthquake Impact to Resilience: Livestock and Poultry Training July 2026

Following the earthquake on 31 August 2026, many families in Chawkay and Nurgal Districts of Kunar province faced challenges in rebuilding their livelihoods and securing income opportunities. In response, Your Voice Organization (YVO), in partnership with DRC, conducted a livestock and poultry management training under the Rebuilding Earthquake-Affected Lives (REAL) in Afghanistan project.

YVO provided a total of 202 participants (80 men and 122 women) with practical training on livestock and poultry care, feeding, hygiene, vaccination, disease prevention, and farm management.

We learned useful skills to better care for our livestock, prevent diseases, and improve our livelihoods, said Gul Zaman, a training participant.

The training aimed to help earthquake-affected families strengthen their livelihoods, increase income opportunities, and build greater resilience.
